10/02: The shiny piece is the all new hand-formed bit. It's still a bit rough on the inside edge, but the will be fettled before final paint. The repaired bonnet cost 2/3rds or more of what a standard Robey S1 bonnet would have cost, and about 1/4 of what a special welded bonnet appropriate to this early car would have cost. And it's still largely original, which means something to me.
