Ebay item 1/30/22

www.ebay.com/itm/115226243436

Opening bid US $15,995, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller z940491, 70k miles.

Seller's description:

Jaguar E-Type, 2+2 coupe, automatic transmission, wire wheels (including the spare), silver exterior with a dark blue leather interior, 4.2 liter engine, air conditioning (not functional), power rack and pinion steering, power brakes, 4 wheel disc brake system, positract differential

In 1979, we purchased this car as a project for my dad and myself. We completed various mechanical tasks/repairs. In April 1984, we had the car safety inspected by the state of Missouri . The car passed the Missouri safety inspection and was licensed in the state of Missouri.

The exterior and interior of the car were never restored. Life got in my way and this project was never completed. I also have different priorities.

The positive points associated with this project car include;

the car is mostly original and complete.

the engine and transmission were redone in the early 1980's

original wire wheels.

the car has been stored inside for the past 40 years

the air conditioning system appears the complete and present

all the body panels and interior components needed to repair the car are available

The negative points associated with this project car are:

corrosion is present on the bonnet, under the battery tray, behind each of the rear wheel arches

the car has not been driven since 1985

the engine has not been started since the late 1980's

the engine, the brake system, the steering, the tires will need to be examined and evaluated prior to driving this car

some parts are known to be missing, i.e. front right bumper, lower rear seat cushions, radio and other miscellaneous parts

the car needs body work and a new paint job

the interior will need to be refreshed

the rear hatch glass has a crack

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
