Ebay item# 2425412494 7/26/03
69 JAGUAR XKE ROADSTER One Owner 48,025 miles with 48,025 actual miles. This MONTANA car and was directly ordered from Jaguar of England. It was delivered to the original owner through British Motor Car Distributors, LTD. (B.M.C.) at 1200 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, California in March 4, 1970. At that time British Automobiles were not delivered until late in the year of manufacture so it is a 1969 model purchased in 1970. Copies of all paperwork documentation pertaining to the order of and original sale of this vehicle will be included in the auction. This paperwork consists of; The METAL IMPRINT PLATE (to be presented to the dealer for Warranty Work), Original Option/Shipping Sticker with suggested retail which was $6,690.00 from British Leyland Motors, Inc., Letter from British Motor Car Distributors, Ltd. thanking the owner for the purchase of the vehicle, New car purchase order from the same company, Notice from B.M.C. that the vehicle had been picked up by Mayflower for transport, Contract for shipping to Butte, Montana by Mayflower Van Lines for the amount of $466.04 (the owner did not want to drive the vehicle in the early spring for fear of rock chip damage etc., Original owners manual, Jaguar passport, Lubrication chart, Air conditioning instruction card, windscreen sign that says, "Do not touch my Jaguar, she bites" and the original envelope are all sold with the auto. The only page missing in the passport is the warranty registration card. This auto also is being sold with the original Factory Phillips radio w/ paperwork (not installed) it was replaced with a radio cassette deck in the 1980's. The automobile options are; AM FM radio, 5 Dayton (CW) Knock Off wire wheels, factory installed air conditioning unit (a rare option for a Roadster), Tonneau Cover, Sundym Glass, Jaguar nose guard bumper bar. Also included are all of the original tools provided by Jaguar. The only body damage is a dent in the rocker panel on the driver's side side. This damage occurred in 1974 when a corner was taken to sharply in a parking lot and a curb grazed the rocker panel. This dent was professionally repaired at the time and is impossible to notice. The automobile was repainted in 1985; using original Jaguar paint, (baby blue), all of the chrome was removed for this professional repaint. At the same time this re-paint was done the owner had a protective strip added to the side of the vehicle to prevent door nicks. The paint is still glossy and only shows the slightest rock chips along the under side of the rocker panels and rear end. Some of the details under the hood have been repainted black. This vehicle has absolutely no rust anywhere, except for slight areas under the bonnet where the paint has been chipped and some surface rust has formed, these few chips are smaller than a penny and are not pitted they are just rust color. The lack of rust in Montana is due to the very dry climate and lack of use of salt on the roads. Under the bonnet there is one tiny dent and a 1.5-inch tear in the protective sheet metal of the inner fender. This damage most likely occurred when a wrench or other object was wedged between the bonnet gasket surface and the inner fender when the bonnet was closed. The windscreen also has a small chip in it. The chip is about the size of a pen tip with cracks coming out of it, the total are of this is about ¾". The seats show normal wear and have no tears or scratches. The rest of the interior is in near new condition there is one small defect on the right kick panel about a ¼ of an inch around. The glove box handle is unattached but is with the car in the spot where the handle attaches to the glove box door there is a small scratch. The center consol is in good condition. The top is original factory and has never been replaced or repaired. One of the leather handles used to put up the top is torn but could easily be repaired. The top is in great condition and has no tears or holes in it and it still looks new from outside, as you can see in the pictures. The boot has its original carpet with no stains. There is also a factory cover for the boot. There is also an original factory tonneau cover included in nice condition. The mechanical aspects of the car are also superior. The 4.2 liter engine (#7R6496-9) with only 48,025 miles has never had any major work done to it and still runs strong and fast. The engine could be steam cleaned, as it has never been done. The rear end may have a slight gasket leak or spill from servicing as it has some grime build up. Other than tune-ups and usual maintenance the only parts ever replaced on the vehicle are the cooling fan motor, and the electric fuel pump both replaced with original Lucas parts. This FINE ONE OWNER Automobile has the best history and documentation you could wish to find on any vehicle. It has been owned since new by the same woman and has never been abused. In her own words, " He is my baby, I have had "LEROY" longer than my husband." LEROY is her name for this car. She saw a Flip Wilson Comedy Show and came out side with her friends but had forgotten where she parked her car so she started screaming L-E-R-O-Y, (a character Flip Wilson referred to in his act) After this incident, all her friends called the car Leroy and she also has ever since, as you can see from the license plates. This car has been truly babied all maintenance has been done regularly by Knievel Import Motors, Inc. in Butte, Montana. This firm was owned by the Motorcycle Daredevil EVEL KNIEVEL'S Father. The head technician at this company always did the work personally and since his retirement his son has done the work. The JAG has only been worked on by these 2 people since it arrived in the USA. These technicians' names will be given to the new owner if you wish to talk about the maintenance history. The owner has agreed to answer any questions about the vehicle for the winning bidder. This vehicle has been inspected by 2 of our employees and statements contained in the description reflect that inspection. In addition, since this is a ONE OWNER CAR we have the word of the owner that what we have written is true and accurate however this vehicle is being sold in "as is" "as stated" condition. The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
