    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $10,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 8 days left in auction. Current location Mechanicsville, Virginia, USA.

    Sellers description:
This is a 1970 Series II 2+2 version with 6 cylinders, automatic transmission, and 40K original miles on the clock. It has wire-spoke wheels and is in excellent condition apart from slight wear on the rear seat and carpet. The car is red with a black leather interior and has been serviced and maintained by the same Jaguar Specialist for the last fourteen years, and the car is being serviced by the Jaguar Specialist NOW to ensure the car is in excellent driving condition (telephone number available if required). It is always kept in a garage. Bucket seats. Dual Exhaust. Clear Title. Power Brakes. Power Steering. It is mechanically, electrically and physically sound and has been lovingly restored.

It draws gasps, shock, and amazement wherever it goes. Everyone stops to talk about the car. It is stunning. It is sensuous. It is considered to be more handsome than the convertible, with its large side and hinged rear hatch. It has been said there is more going on in the door of an E-type than under the hood of most other cars.

If you want to be noticed arriving, noticed when you are leaving and wish to be seen driving, the E-type Jaguar will do this for you. It always collects a crowd when it is parked for a short time and questions are also asked. (I have not been asked for my autograph yet, but it is bound to happen.)

Also available are many E-type magazines and journals and Instruction Manuals and spare parts:
1). The Complete Official Jaguar E (comprising the official driver’s handbook, workshop manual, special tuning manual)
    2) Practical Classics – E-type Restoration
    3) Jaguar Parts Book
    4) Jaguar XKE Parts and Accessories
    5) Jaguar XKE Parts
    6) Jaguar Parts Volume 1 (Parts and Accessories 1948-1975)
    7) Jaguar E-type 3.8 and 4.2 Owners Workshop Manual
    8) The Bible of the old car hobby since 1954 Hemmings Motors
    9) Antique and Classic Tires
    10) Triple C Motor Accessories 1996 Catalog
    11) The Robb Report
    12) The E-Jag News Machine (30 magazines)
    13) Jaguar Driver (2 magazines)
    14) Supplementary Information for 4.2 lite E-Type & 2+2 (from Jaguar Car Works, Coventry, England)
    15) Spare Parts Catalog for 4-2 E-type (from Jaguar Car Works, Coventry, England)
    16) 3.8 E-Type Grand Touring Models Service Manual from Jaguar Car Works, Coventry, England
    17) Service receipts etc. for the work done on the E-type.

Current bid $5,100 reserve not met, 4 bids, 8 days left in auction. Car now said to be located in Santa Clara, California. 40k miles.

    Sellers description:
We got this car in trade from the estate of a person that was very much into Jaguars. We were told that these 40,238 miles are original and correct and we have no reason to doubt this.

We were able to take the pictures underneath the car while the Safety Inspection was being done. We did not find any rust in the car or in the spare tire well. The brakes are in good shape. We put four new tires on the car, and balanced them. The wire wheels seem to be nice and tight on the car. All of the gauges and lights work on the car.

We put on a new alternator. We found the compression in the cylinders to be over 160 pounds. We have serviced the car by changing the oil, the filter, the coolant, and the transmission fluid. We removed the gas tank and had it flushed out and cleaned out and had the gas lines cleaned out, too. So the car is completely serviced and ready to drive. However the car does have a poor idle and in my opinion the carburetor should be rebuilt. Going down the road above 1500 RPMs the car is great and is smooth as silk, it just has kind of a stumbling idle. The car tracks down the road very well.

The rubber around the doors and windows looks good. The glass all around the car looks to be in good condition with no chips, cracks or scratches. A few minor dents are noted in the chrome bumpers.

The interior of the car looks nice and clean. The front seats look like they have been redone in the car, the back seat looks to be in very good original condition with the original Jaguar patterned leather. You can see some wear in the back seats simply from age. The headliner looks good, carpets look good, dash has a few cracks in it. The door panels both look good. What looks like discoloration in the headliner in the picture is actually a reflection of the metal.

The spare tire is present, but the tread is poor. It does have the correct wire wheel removal tool, and the spare has the wire wheel too. We did not find the jack to be with the car.

The car has been painted at some time before. The paint looks pretty good. In bright sunlight it is difficult to get a good picture of the paint, and the pictures do not do it any justice. We were told that it was painted with Martin Senour #36735 Tec-base paint in Bordeaux Red Metallic. There are a few small chips in the paint as you would expect from a car that is driven on the road. No scratches or gouges are seen in the paint. The sides of the body of this car are actually pretty straight. In the left rear fender there is just the faintest amount of bubbling seen under the paint.

We believe we have set a reasonable reserve on this car. If you would like to come and see the car please contact us to make an appointment. We are just minutes away from the San Jose airport.
