Opening bid $1,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 6 days left in auction. Auction based in Lithia, Florida.

Sellers description:
This is a 1963 XKE Roadster. This car is rough, I would consider it a parts car, I'm not going to go into much detail on the condition of the chassis and body. This car is numbers matching, but i cannot read the gearbox number. The vinplate numbers are as follows: chassis#880104 engine#ra4036-9 body#r6815 gearbox#blurred cant read. This car comes with a clear title. The car is located in Westminster Maryland. The bonnet is in good shape. Chassis is in one piece. car is missing the seats. The rear decklid is nice, and the doors are solid with some minor rust spots. The engine doesnt run, but its not froze up.

A few years ago a complete car with matching that was so rusty it broke in half was considered un-restorable. Lately cars in a lot worse condition are being restored...

Hi Michael,
The skyrocketing prices in the last few years have made it worth investing the money necessary to restore such cars.
Does anyone know what happened to this one?
Xav.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
