7/16/04 Car offered for sale at:
www.classic-chrome.co.uk/JAG/detail.html
Sellers desxription:
Manufactured on 4th January 1963 Chassis No: 861062 is an original RHD English car which is now finished in Gunmetal Grey metallic paint with a new Red interior including leather seats, Red carpets, new interior trim panels, new full length Webasto Sun Roof and a new Headlining.
Purchased by the current owner in January 2001, it has since had over £3,000 spent on mechanical improvements including an 'uprated' Braking system with new Calipers and Discs, Master Cylinder's, Universal Joints, Alternator, Stainless Steel Exhaust, new Chrome Wire Wheels and new Tyres.
He also commissioned a full strip and repaint of the car in the Spring of 2001 at a cost of nearly £3,000, but unfortunately the quality of the respray is not very good and it really requires repainting again properly.
This is a nice car that drives well and has history dating back to the mid 1980's and has a Jaguar 'Heritage' Certificate showing its original specification and build details. If it was repainted and few minor cosmetics sorted, it could easily be a £20K+ car and of course it is a more desirable Series 1 Coupe with the 3.8 straight six Engine and the original 'Moss' Gearbox and this will become much more desirable in time.
This is a very sensible and realistic asking price due to the fact that the car really needs repainting properly. No sensible offer will be refused.
