Getting doggy now after many miles of use since 1980's restoration although the body is sound. Needs new wheels and a tidy up. Has seen 20 European countries and eager to see more!

Now visited 20 countries all over Europe, topping 120,000 miles since purchase 20+ years back. Utterly relaiable if well patina'd nowadays. Even now, NO oil consumption!

Yes, the car was used for the car's the star years back. Didn't know the film was still around. This year we have already visited seven countries in Europe, doing over 50 mountain passes on the way and she will be going to the Festival of Speed and Silvertone Classic, so another 10,000 miles I guess. Still running perfectly after over 100,000 miles.

We are now March 2014, so over 30 years since I bought the car and restored it in 1987. In the intervening time the car has done more than 100,000 miles and seen over 20 countries and it was time to take her apart and have a second look, and we were surprised to find not too many problems except that the engine was on its last legs and needed a 100% rebuild, so a newly rebuilt engine it has. As I get older the heritage of the car becomes more important to me so this time she is going back to her roots, so she is being repainted in her original colour of gunmetal with red interior and black roof. We've changed a few things, like the radio has new guts so I can listen to FM radio, she has four pot calipers, and she has electronic ignition, but for the rest stock original. She will be finished in May 2014, and I'll put up a couple of new photos of her when finished. I am looking forward, if I am given the time, to add another 100,000 to her mileage.

I rember the car it was yellow , a bad paint job when I owned it, interestingly the original colour underneath was Maroon, this colour was everywhere, in side the boot, A frames bulhead interior and exterior, as I had owned the car from the 70 's would have assumed this had been the original colour.
Still have the original boot lid, hinges, and the Original Number Plate somewhere in the old workshop

I'd love to recuperate the old number plate if you find it! Is there any way I can contact you please? I am visiting the 1974/5 owner of the car in May to show him, I wonder if by any chance you are Mr. Waterer who lived in Deal? He is the last owner in the green log book before I owned her. You could be Dave W of course!
