One car that comes into the 'must have' category when putting together any quality collection of classic cars is the Jaguar 'E' Type Roadster and of those you would probably choose an example with the 3.8 litre engine. It is also possible that you would choose a very early example, even a 'flat floor' one, that is if you could find a really good one. Well it just so happens........
This one dates from 1961 and has the chassis number 850158 which makes it the 158th example off the production line and it is described by the vendor as being in superb condition throughout having been restored over a ten-year period. It was only finished in 1996 by P.K. Thornton, a Jaguar specialist, and details of all the parts used in the restoration together with photographs of the car can be found in the car's history file. The recorded mileage of 71,132 miles is believed to be genuine from new and it is quite unique in that it still carries its original registration number 481 HYL.
This is a very reluctant sale by the present owner but it does provide someone with the opportunity to acquire this very rare and desirable original UK car.
