The Series III E-Type XKE Jaguar was built from late 1971-74 and was a continuation of its legendary 60's sports cars but now with a new V12 engine! To accommodate the larger powerplant, Jaguar used the 9" longer wheelbase previously used for the Series I and II 2+2 coupes. Body modifications also included a wider track with wider tires mounted on slotted wheels with disc wheel covers or optional wire wheels. These cars were fast with 0-60mph recorded in 7.5 seconds and a 15.4 second quarter mile!
This particular car has a documented original 13K miles and its exemplary condition clearly shows that at no time was any expense spared on this vehicle's preventive maintenance with its original matching #'s 5.4L V12 engine running as smooth as silk and the transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. This 1971 Jaguar E-type 2+2 Series 3 V12 is very low-mile car presented as mostly original except for a repaint after long-term storage. The black leather seating surfaces, said to be original, appear to be in very good condition. The seller further affirms that the door panels, dashboard, headliner, and carpets are original and in “very fine condition throughout.” He reports no issues for the heat, A/C, gauges, or lighting. Like the rest of the interior, the hatch area appears exceptionally clean in photos.
The selling dealer states that it will provide a clean and open California title for the proper transfer of ownership for this vehicle.
