Ebay item 4/10/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-1971-Jaguar-E-Type-2-2-v12_W0QQitemZ13 ...
Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids yet, 4 days left in auction. 46k miles.
Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar XKE 2+2 V12 with automatic transmission and A/C. This car was my father-in-laws. I cannot verify all the past history of the vehicle and all of the repairs / updates he has made. The car has been repainted, and there is some minor rust on the underside but nothing severe. Most of the rust appears to be surface and easily repairable. I do not believe this car has been driven on the road since 2001 and I would not consider the car roadworthy. The car starts and idles well, the transmission shifts in and out of all gears with no problems and I have driven the vehicle inside my shop. The brakes do activate and will stop the vehicle driving it at idles speeds. I have not attempted to drive the car on the road and would recommend anyone who purchases it have the brakes and all systems checked before doing so. The car would be a great and very easy restoration project for a Jaguar enthusiast. I have several extra parts (new & used) that go with the vehicle, including both air cleaner housing. The car does have four brand new tires on it and there is an extra new set of four that will also go with the vehicle. My father-in-law was the second owner of the vehicle purchasing it from the original in 1979.

Sellers description:
1971 Jaguar E-Type V12 2+2 Series 3 Coupe with 45318 original mileages. I learned from another ebay seller that there are only 2333 ever made. This is a unique car that you won't easilly see it on ebay. I bought it one year ago with intention of restoring it, but I just don't have the time and the space anymore. anyway it would be a great project for you because body is in solid condition, and glasses is complete( no cracks,) chrome looks ok but could be better. there are few rusty spots that you can see it on the pictures. Engine runs fine, gear is shifting and it has two sets of new tires, new distributor, new ignition, new spark plugs. However, there are many things you have to do, which is shocks, brakes(there is no brake right now), steering some electric and usual work that you have to do when you are restoring a car.
