Ebay item 2/19/20
www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Jaguar-E-Type/283788501578
Opening bid US $2,500 reserve not met 0 bids 4 days left in auction seller fx442001, buy it now price $49,750, 52k miles.
Seller's description:
Powered by a 4.2L inline-six paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox, this example has covered 52k miles from new. A major mechanical refresh in 2011 included a front-end rebuild, a brake update with rebuilt calipers and stainless steel pistons, and a new fuel tank, with over $12k...
The 4-speed manual is shifting smoothly through all gears, with no whining or unusual noises noted. A Ray Davis aluminum alloy radiator was installed in 2011, and the two fan motors were repaired at that time. A new fuel tank, fuel filter, and hoses were also installed as part of the major refurbishment.
The 4.2L twin cam inline-six is reported to be the original unit and is currently fitted with dual non-emission Zenith-Stromberg carbs.
Continued good oil pressure and a strong running engine with no current issues.
The car was repainted its original Light Blue in the 1980s and retains its factory look. The finish has held up well, with good shine and no obvious color variations or signs of damage. There is no visible bubbling or rust, and both the seller and prior owner report this XKE has always been garaged and never driven in snow.
The car rides on original 72-spoke painted wire wheels, with Redline tires and tubes added in 2011. Panel fit is good, with tight seams and consistent alignment. Brightwork has no notable scratches or hazing.
Suspension work in 2011 included a full disassembly and replacement of all wear items. Updates included new upper/lower ball joints, front wheel bearings, link bushings, and front shocks, along with a steering rack rebuild using uprated mounts. The floor pans, rockers, and suspension components all look solid. A September 2019 service included a rear main seal replacement and a clutch rebuild.
This Vehicle Information Record provided by Jaguar shows the car was built in November 1969 and delivered in Light Blue.
