Original Engine with Triple SU Carbs

Stainless Header and Exhaust System

Upgraded Gold Head & Cooling System

Service History/Manuals/Restoration Photos

When one owns a restoration business, customer cars come first, but a master plan for a personal car is always in play. This XKE is one of those cars. It was slowly built over the course of several years, while trying new parts and modifying other to create one of the best driving E-Types weve ever had. Born in the color of Sable, with a black interior, this Jag was treated to a proper Red color change with a new Biscuit interior. The exterior is highly polished and nearly flawless, having only been driving around 1,000 miles since completion. The body lines are accentuated by the exceptional bright work, and complemented by a Beige convertible top. Inward, the new leather seats wrap you in comfort when touring, and provide a little extra safety with headrests and shoulder belts as mandated for 70. This series II features the new style rocker switches, a period AM/FM Radio, and the famous Jaguar wood steering wheel.

This XKEs 4.2 Liter straight six sports three SU carburetors, the higher compression gold head, and a Stainless header pipe and exhaust which only adds to the pleasure of driving this E-Type. The engine and drivetrain were completely rebuilt, so this is truly a new XKE!! The cooling system was upgraded along with adding poly bushings in the suspension system, and adding an external oil cooler. This Jag starts easily, shifts crisply, and stops easily, a true dream to drive!

Opening bid $1,000 reserve not met 0 bids, 2 days left in auction, seller gateway-classic-cars Olathe, Kansas, 57k miles.

Seller's description:

Gateway Classic Cars of Kansas City is proud to present this stunning 1970 Jaguar XKE Roadster. This beautiful Jaguar is powered by a strong 4.2 L Inline 6 paired to a smooth 4 speed manual. This incredibly rare Jag even has the highly desirable Gold Heads which any Jag fan knows sets this car far apart from others. This gorgeous Jaguar has seen a very thorough engine out restoration over the years, and the owner has hundreds and hundreds of receipts for all of the work that he had done, with most of it being done at Jag Cars Limited in Nashville Tennessee and Jaguar Specialists of Indiana. The engine and transmission are believed to have been rebuilt around 2000 miles ago, and taken completely out of the car and rebuilt with all new parts and British Wiring. There was not a single part of this vehicle that was not addressed during the lengthy and thorough restoration. The exterior has seen hundreds of hours of body and paintwork and it is finished in a gorgeous Signal Red with a Biscuit colored top and interior. In the wheel and tire department we have a set of Jaguar Wire Wheels wrapped in Pirelli Performance tires with four wheel disc brakes to help you stop on a dime. This 4.2L Inline 6 has the triple K&N Carburetors, and comes with the Jaguar tool kit, Spare tire, a Signal Red Car Cover, and also a boot. Highly restored Jaguars of this caliber do not come up for sale too often, this is your chance to own one of the highest quality Jaguars available for sale today. Some additional features of this stunning Jaguar include AM/FM Radio, Manual Convertible top, Performance tires, Seatbelts and those awesome Wire Wheels. .

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
