Originally delivered to Belgium in 1966, this gorgeous Jaguar E-Type found its way to Australia circa 1979 and was professionally converted to right-hand drive by Kellows of Melbourne. Over $30,000 has been invested in upgrading the car, none of which detracts from its fundamental originality, but rather serves to make it both more driveable and reliable. Notable improvements include new Series 2 brakes, with bigger discs, callipers and brake booster. The original automatic transmission has been replaced with a Jaguar 420 four-speed overdrive manual box, the fuel pump replaced with an electric item and the wiring loom remade with all new relays. A large thermostatically-controlled electric fan has been installed for better cooling, along with a Bosch alternator and electric ignition using high energy coil and leads. Both the front and rear suspension has been rebuilt with all new ball joints, bushes and rubbers, while an appropriate final drive ratio selected to give the optimum balance between quick acceleration and relaxed high speed cruising. The paint and trim remain in presentable condition but the front seats and console were re-trimmed in Connolly hide. To be sold registered in Victoria until March 2010 with a Victorian Roadworthy Offered after sale, the vehicle comes with a driver's handbook, receipts file , front Bumpers and Original Steering wheel with the JDHT Certificate supplied.
This vehicle is now available for inspection at 321 Warrigal Road, Cheltenham Vic 3192
