Car to be at auction 9/16
www.silverstoneauctions.com/1967-jaguar-e-type-series-1-42-coupe-22

Auction description:
The Salon Privé Sale 2016
1967 Jaguar E-Type Series 1 4.2 Coupé 2+2
Lot No.: 212
Registration: LDF 131E
Chassis Number: 1E50775
Engine Number: 7E.52974.9
CC: 4235
Year of Manufacture: 1967
Estimate (£): 65,000 - 75,000

This is a UK, RHD matching numbers, manual, 2+2 that has been meticulously restored by classic car specialist Robin Lackford in 2009 to 2010. The restoration was thorough and no expense spared with the car taken back to bare metal, thoroughly prepared and superbly resprayed in its original Jaguar Cream. During the restoration, we are informed Jaguar Heritage were consulted on a regular basis to make sure the car was as close to factory specification as possible. Clearly, this input has been effective as 'LDF 131E' looks spot-on and would reward close inspection. This is unquestionably a Concours standard restoration. The odometer is showing 68,000 miles, which is believed genuine, but cannot be warranted.

Since the restoration was finished in late 2010, our vendor has enjoyed, loved and cherished his E-Type and used it as a good classic should be. It has formed part of his significant collection enjoying the benefits of dry storage and he has tended to use it only on dry days as is evident if you have a look underneath.

Cream is a rare colour for an E-type these days and it really does suit the longer car's slightly different lines. This is a superb opportunity to acquire an incredibly pretty and expertly restored, potential Concours winning 2+2 E-Type Coupé.

Since the restoration was finished in late 2010, the car's previous owner enjoyed, loved, and cherished his E-Type and used it as a good classic should be. We were pleased to sell the car for him in 2016 and it was purchased by a regular customer of ours who immediately placed it in his significant collection where it has been enjoying the benefits of dry storage and used only on dry days as is evident if you have a look underneath. Our customer is in the enviable position of being able to rotate and refresh his collection every few years and we are pleased to be able to offer this immaculate Jaguar on his behalf.

An exquisite example of the Jaguar E-Type Series 1 Coupe, in 2+2 form.

This fabulous British icon is as good as they come, having been meticulously restored to its former glory by Jaguar Specialist Robin Lackford Engineering from 2009 - 2011. As one would expect, the car's restoration was properly documented, with every nut and bolt of the bare metal project properly logged.

As well as documentation relating to the restoration, several files of paperwork accompany the car and it's near 60-year history, a credit to its previous owners, these include a host of maintenance invoices, as well as old MOT certificates and also detective work relating to past owners (a lovely addition to any classic car).

The E-Type's current custodian has ensured its fastidious history be upheld, with circa £15,000 spent on servicing and age-related maintenance, with the works being undertaken by Clayton Classics in Coventry, a leading UK specialist in classic Jaguars. As well as this, front PPF has been added, along with a period-correct Radiomobile unit (which does allow for a more modern Bluetooth connection!) and an easy access trickle charge connection. Finally, and most recently, the E-Type underwent a further £5,000 worth of maintenance, with the carburettors being stripped and serviced and some preventative maintenance attended to. It is fair to say that this example is as near to concours as one could find.

Sold with Jaguar Heritage Certificate, Metallifacture Jack and Handle, Tool Kit and Car Cover.
