This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I coupe was first delivered to Jaguar Cleveland Motors in Ohio, and remained under the care of its second owner from 1983 until it was acquired by the seller in 2021. The car is finished in Opalescent Dark Green over Suede Green leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes enclosed headlights, 15″ wire-spoke steel wheels, power-assisted disc brakes, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a heated rear window, an AM/FM radio, and a heater. This XKE Series I coupe is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, a tool roll, a copy of the dealer invoice, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The Series I E-Types were equipped with covered headlights and taillights mounted above the chrome rear bumpers. This example is finished in Opalescent Dark Green, and additional equipment includes enclosed headlights, a louvered clamshell hood, wraparound chrome bumpers, bright trim, dual side mirrors, triple windshield wipers, a heated rear window, and dual exhaust outlets. The right front fender was refinished in the 1980s, and a scratch beneath the hatch opening was touched up.
The 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off hubs and are mounted with Avon tires that were mounted in 1988. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Suede Green leather along with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Interior appointments include black vinyl dash trim, a sliding rearview mirror, an AM/FM radio, and a heater.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features triple SU carburetors and was factory rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque.
The cylinder head stamp reads 7E11509-9 and matches the sequence listed as the engine number on the chassis plate.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a full-synchromesh four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
A copy of the dealer invoice lists initial delivery to Jaguar Cleveland Motors of Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and a total suggested retail price of $5,902.85.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate lists a manufacture date of December 13, 1966, along with factory identification numbers and specifications.
