Copyrighted and soon to be patented, this multiple award winning, one-of-a kind Jaguar is both a work of art and an ultimate driving machine.

It is also arguably the most beautiful Jaguar of all time, for it combines the best elements of Jaguar’s two most beautiful and iconic race cars: The D-type and the one-off 1964 Low drag Lightweight E-type coupe of Peter Lindner.

It has been admitted to every Concours event ever applied to, winning awards, praise and media coverage from CNN to Sports Car Digest.

Making this car even more unique and desirable is its multiple configurations that include (1) a D-type style dual cockpit design for single or dual occupants; (2) an E-type lightweight coupe design with a fixed aluminum vented roof and vented rear decklid; (3) as well as a fully open top race car with rollbar—each of which configuration is suitable for street or race.

Its paint is that of the classic Jaguar racing green accentuated by four amber colored driving lamps recessed smoothly into this Jag’s teardrop-like front end.

It’s comfortable black leather racing seats are accentuated by the black diamond leather that covers the aluminum floors along with a satisfying leather wrapped Jaguar badged steering wheel.

There is only one of these XKE-D-L Jaguars on the planet. By comparison, in addition to 71 D-Types, there are 16 original XKSS with 9 more manufactured by the factory. Moreover, there are countless replica D-Types and XKSS, but you’ll never see another XKE-D-L.

The XKE-D-L weighs in at ~2,100 and its specially built, weber inducted 4.2 liter engine makes an estimated 320-340 hp. Accordingly, the XKE-D-L has the same power to weight ratio as the D-Type. But unlike the D-Type, this car has a much more sophisticated independent rear end along with a five-speed gearbox as well as larger tires and bigger brakes for better handling and braking and a more comfortable driving experience.

This XKE-D/Lindner features lightweight aluminum bodywork, including both doors, the boot lid, the widened fenders, the fairing, the dual cockpit body paneling, the bonnet as well as the removable Lightweight E-type Hardtop, the seats, etc., all in lightweight aluminum.

It may be argued this Jaguar is even more handsome than the D-Type or the XKSS. You decide in the side-by-side D-Type, XKSS and XKE-D-L photos.

This Jaguar for sale here, referred to as the XKE-D-L (Lindner) in reference to its DNA, is sculpture whose inspiration was drawn directly from two of the greatest and most beautiful Jaguars: The D-Type and the Lindner-Coupe.

The XK-E-D-L clearly features Peter Lindner’s Jaguar’s four recessed headlights, as well as the widened fenders mounted with dozens of rivets, the bonnet-mounted bug deflector, the rear round marker light and the side exhaust outlets.

The very expensive, time consuming yet beautiful exposed rivets are featured throughout this Jaguar’s aluminum construction, and perhaps to greatest effect on the purposeful bonnet.

Like the Lindner-Couple, there is a large billet aluminum flip-up aluminum racing fuel filler gracefully rising from the tailored rear bodywork.

The bootlid is retained with a proper Jaguar racing bent-wire style latch. Like Lindner’s Jag, the XK-E-D-L features a five-speed gearbox with a round aluminum shift knob.

Like the beautiful D-Type, the XK-E-D-L features a dual cockpit design with two wrap-around windscreens. There is a removable aluminum panel that conceals the passenger compartment for when only one person will be driving/racing.

The rear-view mirror was drawn directly from the D-Type Jaguar, with its is the framed rear view mirror mounted directly to the bodywork.

Like the D-type, this Jaguar features a leather cushioned fairing behind the driver, adding to the beauty, grace and aerodynamic appearance of the XK-E-D-L.

The rear of the XKE-D-L is the most beautiful of the three, as unlike the D-type, Lindner Coupe or E-type Lightweight, its metalwork circles uninterrupted and completely around the rear of the car, whereas the other Jags have license plate cutouts that interfere with the sensuously curving rear.

This Jaguar also features removable side-curtains that extend the windscreens so that they wrap around the driver and passenger.

This Jaguar is something of a Transformer. Unlike any other Jaguar, this dual cockpit configuration can be replaced with a windshield, E-type lightweight aluminum vented roof and an E-type Lightweight vented boot lid, thereby appearing as a Lightweight E-type Coupe.

Like Peter Lindner’s car, this Jaguar features an engine making upwards of ~340 hp mated to a five-speed overdrive gearbox.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
