This 1967 Jaguar XKE Series I Roadster has been with the seller for 46 years. The car has 76k miles and was purchased from the original owner in 1970 with service records dating to November 1971. It is finished in Opalescent Desert Sand over light tan and retains its matching-numbers 4.2L engine (#7E11573-9) and four-speed transmission. In May of 2007, this XKE received a major mechanical and cosmetic restoration by Dave Ferguson of Images Auto Body that is detailed below. About 420 miles have been added since the restoration and the car has never been offered for public sale. Now offered in turn-key condition, this sharp Series I Roadster is sold with a clean California title and extensive history file.
Following the cosmetic restoration, the seller took the car to DeLong's Automotive, Jaguar mechanical specialists also located in Campbell, CA. The numbers-matching engine received a thorough overhaul including:

Lot #132487
This 1967 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that resided with the previous owner in California for over four decades before being acquired by the current owner on BaT in July 2016 and relocated to Texas. The car is refinished in gold over tan leather upholstery, and power comes from a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual gearbox. Features include a tan soft top, glass headlight covers, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, triple SU side-draft carburetors, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio with Pioneer speakers. This Series I roadster is now offered on dealer consignment with a clean Texas title.
The body was refinished in the current shade of Opalescent Desert Sand during a refurbishment that was completed in 2007 under previous ownership. Exterior details include a replacement tan SNG Barratt convertible top with a matching boot, glass headlight covers, a clamshell hood with louvers, a fender-mounted bullet mirror, and central dual exhaust outlets. A replacement windshield and headlamp rings were reportedly installed during the refurbishment.
Replacement 15″ wire wheels are secured by two-eared knockoffs and are mounted with 205/70 Pirelli P6000 tires. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The reupholstered interior features low-back bucket seats trimmed in tan leather accompanied by a color-coordinated center console, door panels, and carpets. The dashboard top was also replaced, and additional equipment includes rubber floor mats, a cabin heater, an adjustable rearview mirror, sun visors, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM/SW radio with aftermarket Pioneer speakers.
A replacement wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows less than 77k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 4.2-liter twin-cam inline-six is equipped with triple SU side-draft carburetors and was factory-rated at 265 horsepower and 283 lb-ft of torque. The engine was overhauled under previous ownership by DeLong’s Automotive of Campbell, California.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
