Undisputedly one of the most stunning automobiles ever created, the Jaguar XKE set a new performance standard when first unveiled. And in the 40+ years since, it’s retained every ounce of allure. The svelte bodywork was one of those rare designs that’s both aerodynamic and visually arresting. The moncoque body, tubular front chassis and torque-rich V12 were inspired by the world-beating D-Type ¬– a serious amount of racecar technology at the time for a road-going car. The 4-wheel disc brakes were especially useful, given the 150mph top speed!
This numbers-matching Series III example has undergone a complete restoration (documentation available upon request) and is in near flawless condition. The primrose paint is virtually unmarked, while the tan interior is very good.
The value of E-types has increased steadily, and with good reason. They’re wonderful performers with immortal styling. If you’re looking for a sports car that offers presence and comfort, the E-type is it. If you’d also like one that’s properly sorted, this is your car.
