This 1974 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III roadster that was acquired by the seller in 2012 and subsequently refurbished with a repaint in white over replacement blue leather upholstery. Power is provided by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a black soft top, air conditioning, a CD stereo, quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ chrome wire wheels. Additional work performed during current ownership included replacing various brake and suspension components, cleaning the fuel tank, and overhauling the carburetors, cooling fan motors, and wiper arm motor. This XKE is offered with manufacturer’s literature, two sets of keys, service records, refurbishment photos, and a clean Colorado title in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Old English White, the car was repainted in 2020 following dent repairs to various body panels. Exterior equipment includes a black soft top, chrome bumpers with overriders, exposed headlights, V12 emblems, and quad exhaust outlets. The seller states that the wiper motor was overhauled under current ownership. Blemishes in the finish are visible.
Chrome-finished 15” wire wheels are secured via knock-off spinners and are mounted with Dunlop SP Sport tires that show 2003 date codes, while a full-size spare is located in the trunk. Braking is through four-wheel discs with inboard-mounted rears, and replacement calipers and rear rotors were installed during current ownership. The steering rack was refurbished, and the suspension was overhauled by the seller with replacement ball joints and polyurethane bushings.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in blue leather complemented by color-coordinated door panels and a reupholstered dashboard. Jaguar-branded floor mats protect replacement blue carpets, and additional features include a center console, an analog clock, rocker switches for vehicle functions, air conditioning, an Auna CD stereo, a wooden shift knob, and a defroster.
A three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and a suite of auxiliary gauges in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 100 of which have been added under current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 features a single overhead camshaft per cylinder bank and is fitted with quad Zenith-Stromberg side-draft carburetors that were overhauled in 2017 by the Carburetor Shop of Englewood, Colorado. Additional work performed under current ownership included rebuilding the cooling fan motors, cleaning the fuel tank, and replacing the radiator core, cooling fan relay, fuel filter, oil pressure sender, heater valve, starter relay, ignition components, and various engine gaskets.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, and the driveshaft and axles received replacement U-joints in October 2018.
