Powered by a virile V-12 powerplant, and sporting all of the amenities, this handsome roadster is ready for some top down cruising and fun.
Recently treated to all new hides on the seats, complete carpeting, and a brand new top, this car needs none of the expensive repair work typically associated with some older convertibles.
Aside from a few minor scratches and dings in the mirror black finish, this car is wonderful.
The triple black wardrobe has always been an eye catcher, and it is really true on this car.
The mileage has just tipped over 40,000, and doing the math shows it rolled an average of only a tad over 1200 miles a year, on average.
The A/C blows ice-cold, and mechanically the car just passed the rigid New York State motor vehicle inspection, which includes safety and emissions.
It is a super nice driver, and will certainly bring pleasure, and enjoyment, to the next owner.

Sellers description:
Selling my black 1974 XKE Roadster I bought the car back in '07 at a decent price with the intentions of using it as a reference car for another '74 roadster restoration. Thought about keeping it for the wife to play with but, now it's time to sell. The car was originally bought in Beverly Hills and then made it's way to NY a few years ago, that is where I purchased it. It is a very nice driver, it's original color was primrose but, some where along the line someone painted it black. Even though the engine rails were also painted black, the engine appears to be mostly original. The spare tire tub remains primrose as does the area behind the dash. I don't think I've put 50 miles on the the car in the last year and a half. But, here is what has been done since taking ownership: Replace relay and rewire fans (had an aftermarket toggle switch) Replace float switch in gas tank Replace oil sender Repair open circuit on tachometer Replace parking light switch Replace all four ball joints Replace tie rod ends Replace rear brake rotors Replace rear brake pads and hand brake pads Replace brake reaction valve on master cylinder Remove both right bank carburetors, repair vacuum leak, replace gaskets Oil change Replace spark plugs Remove gas tank, clean and replace Replace fuel filter. As far as I know, everything is working fine except the clock, I just noticed it quit the other day.

This 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III roadster is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in black over black leather, and features include a black soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, LED headlights, Euro-style bumpers, a Lecarra wood-rimmed steering wheel, a digital AM/FM radio, and air conditioning. This Series III E-Type was acquired by the seller in 2009 and is now offered with service records, a tool kit, a car cover, spare parts, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted black some time ago and features a black soft top, uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, a rear luggage rack, and a power antenna. LED headlights and slim Euro-style bumpers have been installed. A piece of trim is missing around the left headlight.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Michelin XWX tires. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors.
The cabin features seating surfaces upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a digital AM/FM radio, a locking glovebox, and air conditioning.
The Lecarra wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 51k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership. A spare steering wheel accompanies the vehicle.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The California title is listed as a duplicate.
