Lot #77389
This 1974 Jaguar XKE is a white-over-black roadster that was built on November 28, 1973, and was acquired by the current owner’s family in October 1982. Power is provided by a 5.3-liter V12 mated with a four-speed manual transmission, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, air conditioning, a Sony Cassette stereo, quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, four-wheel disc brakes, and 15″ chrome wire wheels. Work in 2021 included refurbishing the carburetors, changing fluids, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the battery, ignition components, brake components, and tires. This Series III E-Type roadster is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, recent service records, and a clean Arizona title.
The car left the factory finished in Sable (259) and has since been repainted in its current shade of white. Equipment includes a black soft top with a matching top boot as well as a louvered hood, quad central exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 205/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires that were mounted in 2021, and a matching spare is stored in the trunk. The car is equipped with front and rear independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. Additional service in 2021 included replacing the brake servo, the brake master cylinder, front brake hoses, and flushing the brake fluid.
The cabin was factory-trimmed in Cinnamon and was reupholstered in black leather at some point. Equipment includes bucket seats, air conditioning, an aftermarket Sony cassette stereo, a locking glove box, a center console with an armrest, and a carpeted rear parcel shelf.
The three-spoke steering wheel is wrapped in leather and fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, while auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 53k miles.
The 5.3-liter V12 is equipped with quad Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Work since March 2021 included refurbishing the carburetors, cleaning the fuel system, and replacing the battery, ignition coil, spark plugs, and belts.
Service in 2021 included flushing the differential fluid and replacing the clutch slave and master cylinders, rear subframe mounts, and exhaust hangers. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery.
Engine stamping 7S15082LB matches the number listed on the data plate as well as the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate which indicates the factory color scheme, serial numbers, and a November 28, 1973 date of manufacture.
