Ebay item 8/11/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-Type-III-V12-1974-Jaguar-XKE-COLLECTORS-CL ...
Current bid $17,100.00 (Reserve not met), 9 bids, 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
For sale is a 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series III V12 with manual transmission and 19,000 original miles. No odometer rollback has been detected. Only 15,290 were made and this was the last year this model was manufactured. This vehicle was purchased from the estate of the original owner in 2004. I have the original sticker on the car and the license plate from 1987. This has a pre-1981 VIN The car was kept under cover and was not driven between 1987 and 2004 because of a bad fuel pump. Original owner had several other cars that he drove regularly. All original and matching parts except for a new fuel pump. This has always been a California car. Paint is original, and is good shape, considering its age. We spent over $4000 getting the car into great running shape (copy of bills available upon request). It has new Pirelli 4000 tires with tubes (required for spoke wheels) with less than 1000 miles on them. The top is is serviceable shape with 2" tears or each side just above the door handles because someone put the top down without unsnapping it first. They can be stitched. There is a small cosmetic ding between the truck lid and the rear bumper that does not affect either the bumper or truck lid which can easily be removed. . There is no bodywork present on this vehicle. All electrical and optional equipment on this vehicle have been checked and is in working condition. Clean interior that is in good shape - given its age. This vehicle has a smooth shifting transmission. We would love to put it into showroom shape, but my son is in the midst of a really messy divorce and he doesn't want to spend any more on it.

Sellers description:
This beautiful Jaguar roadster was purchased in August of 1974 from Richmond British Autos in El Cerrito, California and remained with the original owner until the settlement of his estate in early 2006. In 1986, after a fuel pump failure, the car was parked in a carport in the California desert and remained there, unused, for twenty years. Upon settlement of the owner's estate, the car was re-commissioned for use. This included replacement of belts, hoses, and all fluids. The car was then driven to Portland, Oregon. The next step was a careful disassembly and refinish in the original "old english white" by one of Oregon's top restoration facilities. The seats were recovered with correct pattern leather and the top was replaced with new black Hartz canvas. A new set of correct Dunlop radials were installed. The spare tire has never been used and the gold film visible in the photo on the wire wheel is Cosmoline, a protective coating applied by the factory before shipping the car to the USA. This has never been completely removed. As one might expect from such a low mileage example, the car performs beautifully. All equipment including the air conditioning, instruments, and even the clock function properly. Included in the sale are the original delivery documents and owner's manual. Also included is a parts catalogue and a repair manual. A personal inspection is encouraged, and the car is available for viewing in Portland, Oregon
