    To be at auction 12/11
    www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

    Auction description:
    Lot 106 - 1973 Jaguar E- Type Roadster S III V12
    Estimate: €63,000 - €69,000
    Registration Number: German Registered
    Chassis Number: UE 1S 23743

Supplied in 1973 to the US, this well presented V 12 Jaguar E-Type Roadster came back to European shores in 2010, since when it has undergone a high degree of cosmetic restoration and has been repainted in its original grey-green livery.

The vendor points out, that upon this restoration it has been noticed that the car, very unusually, has received no welding during its life. Coming in substantially unrestored structural condition - apart from the cosmetic work to it - the car sits on chrome wire wheels, is equipped with the automatic gearbox, air condition and a dark brown mohair hood. The cosmetic work is photo documented, and a service booklet, tools and owners manual are in the original valet.
The last of the phenomenal E-Types which celebrate 50 years in 2011 and the end of an era.....

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
