Auction description:
Classic Car Auction of Toronto - Fall
24 - 26 October 2008
Lot SP122
1974 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster
To be auctioned on Sunday, October 26, 2008
High Bid of 43,000
Chassis no. UE1S23520
The V12 Series III E-Type offered here is a very attractive example, showing approximately 36,500 actual miles. Finished in a very attractive maroon exterior with a black cloth top, the Jaguar is also complemented by very good brightwork, dual rear-view mirrors, and a rear-mounted luggage rack, as well as chrome wire wheels with Dunlop whitewall radial tires. Meanwhile, the powerful V12 engine is mated to a four-speed manual gearbox, and has been upgraded with a set of six dual-throat Weber carburetors, a performance enhancement valued at approximately $6,000, as well as a detailed suspension system. The attractive cockpit is trimmed in dark tan upholstery, contrasted by light tan carpeting, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the original black dash, all in very good condition.
Offered in very attractive and well-maintained condition, this Series III E-Type Convertible represents one of the last examples of one of the most significant designs in automotive history, and it will certainly reward its next owner with an unforgettable driving experience.
