Ebay item 9/30/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973-Jaguar-E-Type-V12-Roadster-Gorgeous-Rust-Free-64k-m ...
Current bid $20,000 reserve enot met, 4 bis 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 OTS finished in special order silver over red leather. For its time, the Series III E-Type was the most opulent roadster on the road and with its plush leather seats, stunning silver paint and rumbling quad carb V12 engine, this car still receives that acknowledgment by passersby today. Big, expensive, modern while still 1960s era chic, this big cat was built to both remain classically refined and satisfy egos.
The car has just received a high quality paint job in factory correct special order silver, having been blocked three times during paint preparation to ensure a straight, even and head-turning finish. The body itself is flawlessly straight with perfect panel fit and gaps throughout. The only exception is the boot, which sits a little high due to brand new rubber seals that will soften in time. Also note that the windshield wipers weren't reinstalled on the car when we took the pictures, but they work as they should. All of the brightwork is in great original condition and all of the rubber is new. The glass and windscreen are perfect and the car has a brand new soft top with crystal clear rear plastic. The knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in brand new white wall tires. While the carpets show their age, the car's interior is equally as clean, its leather seats showing only the most minimal patina with exceptionally clean interior panels.
When you turn the ignition the V12 engine sounds as big as it is, immediately roaring to life and maintaining a consistent, throaty idle. Upon acceleration the car responds excellently, pulling strongly and smoothly through each of the gears. The transmission performs as it should, compression is excellent and the car is a joy to drive, whether cruising docilely around town or bombing down the highway. With only 64,085 original miles, the car has always been well looked after and garaged and has never had any rust or rust repair. The original factory undercoating remains on the car's undercarriage and the body and frame show no evidence of accidents. It's undoubtedly one of the most solid E-Type's we've come across.
This is a wonderful example of a Series III E-Type, the last iconic Jaguar. We want this car to go to a great home.
