Sellers comment:
Offered for your consideration here is a 1974 Jaguar, XKE series III, V-12 Roadster. This is a very desireable car, fitted with the 4 speed manual gearbox, chrome wire wheels and showing a documented 18455 actual miles. This beautifully preserved example is a ONE OWNER CAR, still owned by the original buyer. This XKE is finished in the original White exterior with a contasting red leather interior and black vinyl top. The speedometer actually shows only 14500 miles, but the instrument was replaced under factory warranty at 4000 miles, which is documented in the complete historical maintenance records. The owner, retired from the military has followed the factory service recomendations, by the book, since new. This Jaguar has been used seldomly and stored in the dry Southwest almost exclusively since new. There is NO rust, corrosion, neglect or accident history. All books and service records, included with the sale.

Vehicle Condition
This particular car runs and drives like you would imagine a new XKE V12 would have in 1974. It has recently been taken out of storage and had some maintenance performed, including: all the fluids drained and refilled. The carburetors removed, overhauled, refitted and tuned. A suitable tuneup was performed including ignition components, spark plugs, high tension wires and all filters. The fuel tank was removed cleaned, fuel lines, cleaned and reinstalled. The radiator was removed and cleaned and a new water pump and thermostats installed. All of the coolant hoses, vapor and fuel lines were replaced. The battery was replaced as was the windscreen and tires. The car has passed the Arizona emissions requirements and is currently licensed and registered. The black vinyl top is original, but the rear windown was replaced at some point in time. The top is weather tight and serviceable as is is, but this car is deserving of a new black Hartz canvas top. The interior is original and shows virtually no wear. The color is bright and the leather condition is excellent. The same is true with the dash, instruments, etc. The 12 cylinder engine runs smooth, cool, quiet, and strong, with no noticeable smoke or oil leaks.. The gearbox is quiet and dry and the gear changes are smooth and crisp. The differential, likewise, is quiet and dry. The brakes and suspension are in very good condition. The exhaust system is original with the exception of the rear stainless fantail exhaust extension, which was replaced when the above referenced work was done. The chrome wire wheels are in excellent condition and shod with brand new Dunlop SP 40 radial white walls. Inspection is available by appointment.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
