Ebay item 10/12/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-E-Type-1973-Jaguar-XKE-2-2-V-12-/140465110 ...
Current bid $2,651 reserve not met, 3 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1973 V-12, 2+2 is a wonderful barn-find car. The previous owner had stored it in his brother's barn for 12 years, took it out two years ago where it sat until I purchased it. I replaced the brake master cylinder and bled the brakes, rebuilt one of the four carbs, installed twelve new spark plugs, and just did a general cleaning inside and out. It starts, runs, and looks great. The exterior was professionally repainted prior to 1986, and still looks really good. It has a few small rust bubbles above the rear wheel and garage rash, but is amazingly clean. The only other rust I could find was a small hole at the left front corner of the driver's footwell (3/4" in diameter) and another in the spare tire well (1/2"). There are a couple of bubbles where the front fenders meet the bonnet, but nothing serious. The rear muffler/resonator is rusted out, but the chrome dual tip is there and still in great shape. All of the glass is in excellent condition as is all of the chrome trim, wire wheels and bumpers. The windshield washer solvent bottle is missing as are the jack, tools, and owner's manual. The leather is in great shape with the only exception being a 1" hole in the base of the rear seat. The carpet is in good condition with only a small hole in the passenger side.

This car could easily be driven as is with very little work or be restored to a beautiful original collector car.

Headliner is tear-free and clean but drooping. Needs to be re-glued.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
