Lot #184396
This 1973 Jaguar E-Type Series III 2+2 is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 linked with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Pale Primrose over black leather, and features include four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, 15” knock-off wire wheels, quadruple carburetors, and a Sony CD stereo. This Series III E-Type is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a Pennsylvania title.
The car is finished in Pale Primrose and features uncovered headlights, a forward-hinged louvered hood, and a power antenna. The aftermarket sunroof is inoperative, two different side mirrors are installed, and the key does not work in the door lock. The seller notes that there are dents on the front grille, the right front turn signal and right rear taillight are broken, the right inner window seal is missing, the door seals and window tracks are worn, and the stainless steel is scratched and faded. Overspray on the rear hatch molding is shown in the gallery.
The 15″ wire-spoke wheels are secured with knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/70 Maxxis M-A-1 tires showing date codes from 2018. The Series III E-Type was factory equipped with power steering, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with inboard-mounted rear rotors. The seller notes that the ball joint boots and steering rack boot are torn, the wheels show corrosion, and the tie rod ends should be replaced.
The 2+2 cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in black leather as well as color-coordinated door panels. Interior amenities include a locking glovebox, a Sony CD stereo, and a heater. The air conditioning vents are broken and the knob is missing. The driver’s door panel is missing the window crank and trim, the headliner is worn and sagging, there are tears on the rear seats, and the turn signal switch cover, lower dash cover, and parking brake warning light lens are missing.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline. An analog clock along with auxiliary gauges for voltage, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level are mounted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles. The horn is inoperative.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory equipped with quadruple Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 241 horsepower and 285 lb-ft of torque when new.
Engine block stamping 7S8691LA corresponding number is listed on the chassis plate.
A six-speed manual Tremec transmission was installed some time ago, and power is sent to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. There are leaks from the engine and transmission.
The Pennsylvania title lists “Antique Vehicle” under the brands section.
