Car was at auction in '03
www.sportscarmarket.com/profiles/2003/February/English/index.html
SCM description:
This car sold for $50,600, including buyer's premium, at RM's Meadow Brook sale, August 3, 2002.
This particular car was in excellent restored condition and the buyer was willing to pay at the upper end of the normal trading range for the quality of the restoration. There's no indication that the car has been entered in any Jaguar Clubs of North America concours events, so the true test of the point-quality of the restoration is yet to come. And since the car has not been driven in the four years since it has been restored, it will surely need to be fettled.
Nonetheless, given the apparent thoroughness and quality of this restoration, this car should be considered well bought. If properly maintained and driven sparingly, it should do nothing but appreciate in the future.

Car was again at auction in '04

Vintage Motor Cars at Meadow Brook
Saturday, July 31, 2004 [Print]
1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster
ESTIMATE: $45,000 - $55,000
CHASSIS NO: UD1S22462
110hp 267cu. in. V12 L-head engine, three-speed manual transmission with reverse, four-wheel leaf sprung suspension and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. Wheelbase: 122"
The V12 model offered here is fresh from a complete nut-and-bolt restoration to JCNA standards. The no-expense-spared restoration was completed around five years ago, since then the car has remained in a bubble, virtually untouched. It is beautifully finished in red with biscuit interior and is complete with optional wire wheels. The four-speed gearbox makes best use of the powerful 12-cylinder engine and the air conditioning will keep you cool in warm weather. The current owner reports executing some recent work, including replacing the transmission, engine seals and installing new tires. Overall, the car has been driven sparingly traveling less than 1,000 miles over the last three years. These late model E-Types mark the end of an era and their user friendly operation makes them highly suitable for all enthusiasts to enjoy on a regular basis.

1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster
67,608 miles
Four speed
Air conditioning. (Not working)
This car is a real thrill to drive. It drives as effortless as a new car. The V12 engine is smooth with power on tap at all times. On the highway step on the gas at 70 it just takes off, not that I would drive over the speed limit. The car has never been driven in the winter and only on nice days in the summer; it has always been kept in a heated garage year round.
Car history: I bought the car 5 years ago. Before that it was part of a large car collection in Arizona where, about 9 years ago, the car underwent a nut and bolt restoration.
Since my purchase I have continued with the maintenance with all the work done by a professional shop specializing in only English automobiles.
The body is excellent with no rust anywhere. The paint is bright and shinny. The frame is also very clean as is the engine and compartment. The tires have less than 300 miles on them.
The interior is in near perfect condition with the leather showing only slight patina of wear, there is a small rough spot on the upper right side of the passenger seat from the convertible top frame when it goes up and down. Original jack and manual are included.
