Ebay item 2/28/06
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-E-Type-1973-Jaguar-XKE-V12-convertible-Series-III ...
Opening bid $10,000.00 (Reserve not met), no bids yet, 9 days left in auction. Bryn Mawr, Pennssylvania
Sellers description:
1973 Jaguar XK E-type V12 convertible in White with Parchment interior. This car has been fully restored to it's original condition and is in exceptional shape with no rust and has been stored in a heated and dehumidified garage, specially made for this beautiful, very rare automobile. The vehicle has only 39,597 original miles.
The car is being sold though me on behalf of it's owner, a retired physican from the Main Line outside Philadelphia, Pa. He bought it for his wife at an auction in October of 2002 who loved the E-type's timeless lines and power. The vehicle had 39,485 miles on the date of sale. The Doctor had specially made a garage for it on his property after taking possession of it to protect the cars beauty. After buying the car at auction, he had the car taken to a local Jaguar specialist to make sure the car was mechanically sound for his wife to drive. The car he says was in good working order but he wanted the car to have all new hoses, vaccuum lines, gaskets, seals and have the brakes and steering checked. After all was said and done, the car has had approximately $10,000 in maintenance and repair done to it. All of the above maintenance and repair receipts are kept safe with the cars paperwork and will be given to the new owner. The car was bought home and given to his wife who has driven it only a few times because she finds herself too "low to the ground" and is afraid that bigger vehicles will not see her. The car she regularly drives is a Mercedes E-class wagon, so you can tell what she is used to. The car runs great and is driven a short distance weekly by the care taker of the estate to keep it in good operating mechanical order. He is also makes sure that the car receives it's regular maintenance including washings when the weather is good. The car is never driven in the snow or salty streets during the winter, only on the property.
The previous owner was a Retired Brig. General from the U.S.A.F. He bought it in October of 1991 after the car was fully restored with 35,512 miles on it. According to documentation from his service provider (British Racing Green in Newark, De.) and his estate, the General took great care of this car and it was his baby. He registered the car with the Jaguar club of North America and always kept the car stored in a garage. We have documentation of the car being placed in various car shows (Lewes British Motorcar Show, New Hope Automobile Show) from the year 2000 until 2002 winning mostly 1st place in it's class (1969-1974). The last car show was in May of 2002 a few months before the the retired Brig. General passed away.
This car is a real gem and should not be passed by.
