Sellers comment:
This beautiful 1972 Jaguar XKE Type lll is a 2+2 model with the rear seating accomodations. This magnificent car is powered by the famous Jaguar V-12 motor and has the desirable 4 speed manual trans. The rear hatch swings out to the side to allow easier access to the luxurious black English leather interior. 52899 original miles. This car has been owned by the same family for many years and always garaged and driven little. The metallic burgundy Cadillac paint was applied about 12 years ago and is still in very good condition. It does have some minor scratches and rock chips. The interior is excellent with slight color fading showing on the left outside of the driver's seat and the center armrest. Both could be touched up with black dye and be perfect. The leather is supple and in great condition. No cracks or tears. Chrome wire wheels and good Pirelli tires. Ready to drive or restore. Currently registered with CLEAR OREGON TITLE
The car has been owned by the same people for about 12
years. It has always been garaged and driven little. The reason for the sale, is to purchase a new T bird. As far as the owner knows, it has never been hit or had any rust. I have looked the car over very carefully and see no repairs or rust. I have a good eye for that and if it has been done it
was a very good repair. The only thing that I am aware of so far on the car that needs attention is one carb is leaking and not working correctly. There is a little oil residue on top of one valve cover, but under the car on the floor and generally looking around there isn't anything to indicate leaks.
I would strongly suggest a major service and tune since the car has been driven little. The mileage is original and overall the car is in very good
condition. The inside is near perfect except for some fading on the drivers seat near the top where the seat belt would rub and also similar fading on
the arm rest. Both easily remedied with a good leather dye. The paint is good, but neither show quality or original in color. It is Cadillac metallic
burgundy. The body is very straight and the paint looks good with a few chips. It is what I would call a good "street paint job" that would be great on a car that is to be driven.
Vehicle Condition
Good running condition drive anywhere. One carb will need some work.
