This 1972 Jaguar E-Type is a Series III 2+2 coupe that was acquired by the current owner in 2012 and is finished in red over tan leather upholstery. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and additional equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, rear quarter vent windows, and an AM/FM radio. This Series III coupe is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner’s estate with a jack and a clean California title.
The car is finished in red and features chrome bumpers and trim, a driver-side mirror, pop-out rear quarter vent windows, a side-hinged rear hatch, V12 badging, and quadruple exhaust outlets. Scratches are visible on the hood, and the seller notes dents and scratches throughout the finish.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 205/70 Hercules Tour 4.0 Plus tires. The car is equipped with power steering and GAZ dampers, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a contoured rear bench upholstered in tan leather. A black dashboard is contrasted by tan carpeting and door panels, and additional amenities include manually operated windows, a locking glove box, and a Craig AM/FM radio. Wear is visible on the interior trim, and the headliner is stained.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer. Auxiliary gauges mounted in the center stack display voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 15k of which were added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.
The 5.3-liter V12 features four Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Corrosion can be seen on under-hood components.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller notes rust below the fuel tank, and corrosion in the spare wheel well was repaired. Additional photos of the underside are included in the gallery below.
The California title displays a VIN of 1S73292BW, omitting the prefix “UC”
