Sellers comment:
This Magnificent 1972 Jaguar E-Type, Series III SOHC V-12 Roadster is being offered to the public for the first time. It has been owned since 1983 by the same distinguished gentleman who has prides himself in maintaining this vehicle to an exacting standard. This is not your ordinary Jaguar. This vehicle is a survivor. It has only 35,900 Adult driven miles. The original buyer had only one intent upon the purchase. That of having the most desirable, comfortable, highly optioned car available. If it was an option for a Jaguar, this vehicle has it. We are talking power steering, power disc brakes, air conditioning, Automatic transmission, chrome wire wheels. This has it ALL!

If you want the most collectible of the Type III V12 convertibles, then look no further.

This vehicle is based upon aerodynamicist’s Malcolm Sayer brilliant original XKE design. With 250 horsepower, top speed in excess of 135 mph, 0 – 60 times in the mid 7 seconds, this is truly a car for the distinguished car enthusiast.

The car is an original car in the truest sense of the word. Documentation to the original owner of Adult’s Bill of Sale is included in the purchase. The color is Primrose Yellow with a recent repaint to bring the car up to gentlemen’s standards.

The carburetors were replaced on the car about 2,000 miles ago and work wonderfully. The interior is the original Cimmon (also called Biscuit) Leather interior. It is starting to show some wear, but is still very, very presentable.

The only attention that this car would need is a new convertible top. The owner is tall, so he doesn’t fit in the car with the convertible top up. Thus it has been down for 20 years.

This car is priced well under its true market value, but heath issues force the sale of his favorite vehicle. No disappointments with this car.

I have no connection to the seller of the advert I've just listed above. Found the listing today and despite RHD it looked a US import so I did some digging and found xkedata.
Here is the content of the advert;

Nice example of this Marque, has had 6 IDF Webers fitted and this has improved economy considerably and has given a better range of power and moreHP as well. All original carbs etc are with car but why you would ever want to put them back on is beyond me,only one thing worse than a Stromberg, and thats 4 of them. Car is mint inside and out and is a pleasure to drive. Car is presently owned by John Rhys- Davies the actor that has acted in numerous films including Lord of the rings, Indiana Jones, Princess diaries to name a few. Only up for sale as John is overseas a lot and has no time to drive it so sad to see it just sitting in the shed he says, so sadly it is going.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
