Ebay item 11/23/16
www.ebay.com/itm/1969-Jaguar-E-Type-/371796353795
Car has a buy it now price of $19,750 for 20 days, seller kurttannermotorcars, 67k miles.
Sellers description:
Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this very affordable running and driving E-type. This 6-cylinder model is loaded with luxury options such as the automatic gearbox, power steering, and air conditioning making it a very easy and comfortable car to drive. This car was recently purchased from it's long term owner who was in the process of a minor restoration to the car. It appears that a new stainless exhaust system was fitted along with new front shocks and some brake hoses. The car's body was carefully stripped with some bodywork performed, then put into primer, awaiting a new respray.
The body on this car appears very decent and straight, needing only some final bodywork and a good blocking before paint. There has been a sheetmetal repair to the trunk floor and the driver's side footwell/floor area, but the rest of the car appears very solid with nice original rockers/sills and original sheetmetal. The doors fit and close well, but the bonnet could use the typical shimming for perfect alignment. The hatchlid also needs some adjustment.
The car's brightwork appears all original. The bumpers and some other sundry items could use a replate. The door chrome is excellent. The car retains all of it's original tinted glass in decent condition.
The car's interior trim is all original and decent in the correct factory black materials. The carpets were replaced at one point. The front seats are showing their age. The dash facia is in good condition. There is a replacement clock fitted.
The engine compartment appears very original with it's original sable brown paint on the subframes: an easy detail if one would prefer to return the car to it's original color. The car retains it's matching numbers engine and all of it's factory fitted options.
Overall, this Series 2 Jaguar E-type is excellent value and a smart buy as an entry level 6-cylinder car. This car is very good mechanically, which puts it far ahead of a non-running car. The simple cosmetic improvements can be performed by most anyone. Most Jaguar E-types have recently been priced out of most enthusiasts budgets, but this is a good opportunity to secure a sensibly- priced example.
