This 1969 Jaguar XKE Series II 2+2 is finished in white over black leather and is powered by a 4.2-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes chrome wire wheels, a louvered hood, halogen headlights with LED halos, an aftermarket exhaust system, and a JVC AM/FM/CD stereo. The car was acquired by the seller in 1988, and service under current ownership has reportedly included refinishing the body, re-coring the radiator, rebuilding the dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and the differential, and replacing the headliner and door seals. This XKE 2+2 is now offered in Canada with a service manual, spare parts, and Nova Scotia registration.
The Series II XKE featured open headlights along with taillights mounted below the rear bumper. This example is said to have been finished at the factory in yellow and painted white in 1989 following rust repair, replacement of the rocker panels, and bodywork on the louvered hood. Paint chips and pitted chrome are visible.
Chrome 15″ wire wheels are mounted with mixed tires. Braking power is provided by four-wheel discs with inboard rear rotors.
Front bucket seats and a rear bench are upholstered in black leather and joined by a color-matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a JVC AM/FM/CD stereo, hand-crank windows, lap belts, and embroidered floor mats. The headliner and door seals are said to have been replaced under current ownership. The front seat upholstery is cracked.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a replacement 200-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The replacement digital odometer does not work, and the total mileage is unknown. The seller reports that approximately 20k miles have been added under current ownership.
The 4.2-liter inline-six features dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors and was rated at 265 horsepower when new. Service under current ownership is said to have included re-coring the radiator, refurbishing the carburetors, and performing a valve job.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The differential is said to have been overhauled in 1999, and the clutch master and slave cylinders were replaced in 2004. An aftermarket exhaust system is installed.
A service manual, records, and spare parts are included in the sale.
