    Ebay item 8/29/05
    cgi.ebay.com/E-Type-Jaguar-4-2-L-1970-model-2-2-FH-Coupe-55-000-mls_W0QQitemZ457 ...
Opening bid US $24,268.80, no bids yet, 5 days left in auction.

    Sellers description:
Due to the recent sale of a business and space restrictions, this vehicle is reluctantly offered for sale by the current owner after more than four years of ownership.

Sold new in England the vehicle was purchased by it’s second owner a few years later and shipped to Australia where it was sparingly used. Due to an overseas posting the then owner, placed the vehicle into special storage for twelve years after which it was very sparingly used.

About four years ago the vehicle had a complete bare metal respray and looks ‘as new’. The meticulous body restoration done in light metallic blue, is enhanced by the ‘straight and ripple free’ body which upon close inspection, appears to have been free of accidents. The 55,274 mls, believed original is further supported by the overall mechanical condition. Currently not reg'd. Eng # 7R402039

The interior is original in every respect and shows some signs of wear, however, the soft blue leather is supple with the patination only enhancing the overall impression. The seats will require some filling to restore their original shape. One would be hard pressed to find a better example of the marque.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
