Ebay item 12/10/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Opening bid $18,500, no bids, 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
We just obtained this car from a middle aged woman who has owned it since 1972. It has approx. 72,000 miles and has had a completely rebuilt proper exchange engine installed about 10,000 miles ago. No oil leaks. Car runs and drives beautifully! Very smooth and powerful. Transmission and clutch operate properly. All suspension in very nice condition. Has fairly new Koni shocks in front. Rears are good but we don't know age of them. Exhaust system is in good shape with no patches. Convertible top in very nice condition. Looks to have been recently replaced. Cooling system in good condition with no leaks or overheating. Brakes are great! Car stops very well, very smooth. Master cylinders have been recently replaced with the proper ones. Has 4 original chrome wire wheels and original silver painted wire wheel for spare. Tires are good (Dunlops on rear; Firestone on front). Chrome on wire wheels looks great and wires are in good condition but wheel rims have a couple of spots of plating loss. Body structure is good and solid and strong. Front floor panels have been expertly replaced recently. Inner rocker panels are perfect with no rust or repairs. Outer rocker panels have some bubbling down low but are strong and solid. Driver's door has a little rust on back edge where skin meets frame, only seen when door is open. Trunk floor and spare tire well is strong and solid with just some finish loss on lower front of well, no holes or repairs. Bottom of car in good condition, very solid. Car has been painted at some point in its life (original color) and some minor body work was done (correctly) on right rear from a bump from another car at a gas station while getting gas. Car also had been bumped in the front and the one piece nose (bonnet) was damaged slightly. The lady had a brand new bonnet (nose) from Jaguar installed. No frame damage. All body panels line up well. Car has a couple of minor scratches in finish and a small dent on top middle of bonnet that looks to have been caused by being shut on something that way laying on engine and was not supposed to be there. Interior is clean but some seat stitching has come apart, mostly on passenger seat. All instruments work properly except clock. Head rests are included but foam was deteriorated. One new headrest kit with leather and foam is included as shown. Rugs are good. Door panels are good. Padding on top of dash is deteriorated but a new one is included for you to install (shown). Bumpers are straight but chrome plating has some deterioration, still looks nice and shiny. This is a beautiful car that runs and drives great! Just needs some minor cosmetic attention as described. We didn't get many repair records with the car as she didn't save them. You won't be disappointed!

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
