Ebay item 4/3/05
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $5,600, no reserve, 19 bids, 6 days left in auction. 82k miles, auto trans.
Sellers description:
This vehicle has an excellent body. There is a very small spec of rust on trunk lid, no other rust is found. This car has Ford 302 Conversion. Engine mounts appear to be bolted on so it should be fairly easy to put original engine back in car. The car appears to be all there except the center console. There are a few minor dings in car that photos may not show. The original clutch pedal is still in car. This car has not been on the road since 1986. I purchased this car from second owner. He had owned the car since 1983. Car has been garage kept its entire life. The engine appears to be in good running order. The brakes do not work. I have not attempted to do any mechanical work on car. This car could easily be put back original and made a super nice collector.

I bought this car from Andrew Walker (U.K) who imported this car back to the U.K during 2005. I bought to restore, and have only just found the Stateside info whilst browsing web. I would love to know more about car's history , Perhaps Paul?, who posted these notes and photo's could help?
Inparticular I would like to know the where abouts of the original engine(No 7R 9822-9) and gearbox (KE 11056) ,a long shot maybe , but E mail etc is a great communication tool .

United Kingdom
This Jaguar E-Type is a Series 2 OTS or Roadster. Built in December 1969 the car was shipped out to New York, USA and first registered in 1970. The car was originally finished in Sable (Brown) with a Beige interior and remained in the US until the early 2000s. At some point while in the US the car was fitted with a V8 engine but thankfully it has since been converted back to an XK straight six.
In 2005 the car underwent a full restoration in the UK. At this time it was converted from left to right-hand drive and extensively upgraded. The car now benefits from a five-speed gearbox, polyurethane suspension bushes, upgraded brakes and electronic ignition. It is now finished in Opalescent Maroon and has a charming walnut dashboard.
