Lot 52426-9 at BVA Auctions sale of classic cars in Amsterdam on 16th December 2020. Sold for 32,000 euros. Amended catalogue description below.

This is a nice if little rough FHC maufactured on 15th May 1964. It can be driven as is or is an excellent candidate for further upgrades. The car was restored by its enthusiast last owner with body repairs including new floors, valences and sills and then resprayed in its original colour of Opalescent Maroon. The interior has been fitted with new seats and dashtop and partly retrimmed in its original Black leather colour, however the headlining has sagged and requires attention.

This FHC is fitted with a non matching 3.8 litre engine with a 4.2 litre inlet manifold. The engine has been rebuilt with new polished big valves and the valves have been reseated and the engine mounted on new frame bolts. The transmission has been checked, the car changed to negative earth and fitted with electronic ignition. The brakes have been overhauled and the radiator has been rebuilt. The car has been sealed and waxoyled. The odometer reads 84,144 miles. It comes with a Jaguar Heritage certificate, has a Dutch registration and is ready for the road.

    Price :€ 72.500

For sale is this nice and a bit ‘rough ‘FHC 3.8 litre.

Excellent candidate for further upgrade or drive it ‘as is’

Day of manufacture was 15th of may 1964.

The car got a respray in its original colour Opalescent Maroon. The interior was also redone in its original black leather.

The jag underwent this ‘restoration’ done by the dedicated last owner.

He didn’t have the time to finish all the work and decided to sell. So we had the E-Type serviced and finished on several points. That work makes the car ready for the road.

Work that have been done as reported by the former owner:

    – New floors

    – New trunk

    – New valances

    – New sills

    – Wax oiled painted and sealed

    – New frame bolts

    – New ball joint rubbers and rack bushings

    – Rebuilt starter an generator

    – Engine crank =bearings polished

    – Big valves +cams, valves

    – New seats +dash top

    – Change to negative ground

    – Electronic ignition

    – Pistons still original specifications

    – Transmission check

    – Outer bearings reseal

    – New cross joints

    – Rear end taken apart, painted and rebuilt

    – New brake pads, brake cable

    – New racing high rev flywheel

    – Rebuild radiator

This non-matching FHC has a 3,8 litre 1962 engine and a 4,2 inlet manifold is fitted.

Engine has been rebuild. Repairs on body were done and the interior is partly renewed. Headliner is a bit sagging.

Car comes with Jaguar Daimler heritage Certificate and a Dutch registration.
