    Serial/VIN 890265
Sold new in Savannah, Georgia to a family who kept it for 25 years before selling it to friends who kept it for another 16 years. In 2003. they traded it in on a Ferrari in Atlanta, Georgia. We purchased it from that Ferrari dealer and sold it to a collector in Princeton NJ. We have just purchased this and another Jaguar, an XK-120 Roadster, from that Princeton owner. Finished in beautiful Opalescent Silver Blue with navy blue leather, it is fitted with its original 15” chrome “knock-off” wire wheels and original AM radio. It is accompanied by its owner’s manual- with case- and both tool kits. Series I XKE coupes are acknowledged to be one of the prettiest modern sports car ever built and this is an extremely nice and correct example.

    Sellers description:
Solid, with Matching Numbers Just completed New York to San Francisco Road Trip! 1964 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe s/n 890265 Engine no. RA5987-8 Opalescent Blue with Blue Leather Interior. This particular car is a matching numbers late 3.8 litre coupe finished in attractive period colors. Having just finished a transcontinental trip from New York to San Francisco, the car is mechanically robust. Since its arrival on the west coast, a few minor issues have been rectified including new carburetor floats and carburetor adjustments, new speedometer cable, and new spark plugs. The car is cosmetically presentable, with a very nice quality paint job and a handful of blemishes. The paint is glossy, with minimal orange peel, but there are a few chips and areas of cracking. The chrome is generally nice, with some very light pitting, and an area of peeling on the right rear bumper. There is also pitting on the right tail light housing. The car has Talbot mirrors and the glass is in fine condition throughout. The interior has nice even patina and does not look **or** feel worn out. The seats are supple, and the carpets very lightly worn. The center armrest has a tear, but there are no other flaws to detract from overall feel of the interior. The dashboard and instruments are complete and very nice, and there is a Radiomobile radio fitted. The rear compartment is in fine condition throughout and is cavernous. Rear hatch is side-hinged and the opening quite large, making it easy to load. The engine compartment is clean, tidy, and partially detailed, and an electric fan has been fitted. The underside is very solid. This is an opportunity to acquire a strong running example of the E-Type coupe. This car is attractive, but not too nice to be used, as it has been, and has the added benefit of practicality as well. E-Type coupes have appreciated considerably in recent years, and will likely continue to do so as more people become privy to their stylish and evocative motoring experience.
