My husbaand and I, along with our mechanic , have been working on this car for almost 2 years. It has been stripped to a bare shell and every part and piece restored, replaced or refurbished. I chose to put in a Clasic Jaguar 5 speed and do various other discreet performance enhancements because I intend to drive and enjoy it.

Current bid $45,600 reserve not met, 28 bids, 4 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1964 Jaguar E-Type Fixed Head Coupe
This Jaguar E-Type is one of the most beautiful examples of a Series I E-Type that you will find.

It is definitely not a trailer queen but looks like one. It is a pleasure to drive and performs wonderfully.

We purchased the car in 2001 and began a complete nut and bolt restoration. Every component has been rebuilt, refurbished or replaced. We kept the car’s original appearance intact but the restoration includes many performance and handling upgrades to make it a truly enjoyable machine for cruising or a weekend at the track.

Some of the upgrades include:
* JT-5 5-speed transmission from Classic Jaguar
* Stainless steel performance headers and exhaust system
* Alloy flywheel
* K&N air filter conversion
* Aluminum radiator with high performance fan
* Wildwood front brake conversion
* Upgraded front and rear sway bars
* Upgraded performance torsion bars
* Gear reduction starter
* Generator to alternator conversion
* 6" x 15" Dayton Centerlace Wire Wheels
* Lower profile / wider tires than original

We have the original transmission, radiator, generator, and a complete new original spec air intake canister, snorkel and trumpet if the buyer wants to put the car back to original factory specs.

The car was invited this past March 2007 to the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance where it was selected to receive the first annual Buddy Palumbo award. The award was presented by automotive author and journalist Burt Levy as recognition for the best car that was predominantly restored by the owners and driven to the Concours.

The car has received numerous awards. Some of them include the following:
· April 2007- Legends on the Green at World Golf Village-
o JCNA Class S3- First Place with a perfect score of 10;
o People's Choice Overall Best in Show
o Matheny Jaguar- Best Jaguar
· April 2006- JCNA Class S3 First Place
· April 2005- JCNA Class S3 First Place
· October 2005- Oktoberfest European Car Show- First in Class and overall Top 20
· September 2005 - First Coast Car Council Annual Show: Judge's Choice Best Car

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
