Description:
This first series Jaguar E-type fixed head coupé left the factory in Opalescent Golden Sand, with a black interior. Little is known of its history, other than that it has been with the last owner for more than 20 years. Suffice to say the car had a rough life and is in need of an extensive restoration.
Being a car from the US midwest, the Jaguar has severe rust issues that require extensive metalwork. In preparation of restoration, the previous owner removed the right hand outer sill panel and bulkhead side panel. New floor pans and sill panels are included.
The car’s commission, body, gearbox and cylinder head numbers match the ID plate and heritage certificate. A correct but not numbers matching 3.8 liter engine block is included, of which the block and crankshaft have been professionally machined (currently smeared with grease, for preservation during transportation). The manual gearbox is linked to a spare 3.4 liter engine, strapped to the front subframes.
This E-type is missing a few parts, most noticeably the passenger seat frame, windscreen and bumpers. Luckily, all of these parts are readily available from classic Jaguar parts specialists.
