Car was imported into UK in September 2014. I have just purchased it from UK owner, and am having the engine rebuilt as oil pressure is very low when warm. I will also have the body stripped and resprayed (Opalescent Golden Sand, as originally supplied) as car has been poorly resprayed in past. Also, the wiring is very hard and brittle, so I will replace the wiring loom.

Car now offered at:
pendine.com/cars-for-sale/1962-jaguar-e-type-fixed-head-coupe-2/
Seller's description:
Elegantly presented in its original colour combination of Opalescent Golden Sand over Light Tan, this early, left hand drive Coupe was built on the 5th December 1962 and despatched to California, USA where it spent much of its life before being returning to the UK in 2014. Understood to have had just one American owner, the car was well preserved by both its long term custodian and by the E-type friendly Californian weather.
From 2015 to 2017 the car was treated to a comprehensive restoration with work including a full bare-metal respray, an engine and gearbox strip and rebuild along with the running gear. It was finished off by a full interior retrim.
The objective was to restore the car to near original specification whilst improving usability and, as such, benefits from tasteful and desirable modifications such as an uprated cooling system, adjustable shock absorbers and stainless-steel wire wheels.
Having covered a little over 5,000 miles since the restoration the car has been enjoyed on high days and holidays around the UK and France. Fastidiously maintained the car is in fine fettle ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.
Accompanying the car is a detailed history file including a photobook detailing the restoration, original hand book, warranty card and also its proof of sale in California.
Overall this is well presented, maintained and documented early E-type at a very attractive price point and is sure to provide great enjoyment for its next owner.
