Ebay item 4/10/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
$10,600.00 (Reserve not met) 4 bids, 9 days left in auction. 37446 on the odo.

Sellers comment:
You are looing at one of the better 1963 Series One Coupes. This car is a real head turner with its brilliant clear coat paint and excellent chrome and glass. I believe that the entire interior of the car had been completely redone at the time I purchased it. It has a 3 carb. double overhead cam 3.8 litre 6 that sparkles with all its polished aluminum and chrome and the black porcelin manifold. It has the 'correct' roof line that only the 2 passenger cars have. This is a real classic. Speed Channel T. V. had a show on the E Type coupes a few days ago and stated that the Series 1 is the most desireable of the group.

Vehicle Condition
The disclosure statement showing the mileage when I bought the car indicates the odometer to be corrrect but I personally can't guarantee it. I have driven the car about 1200 miles in the 8 years I have had it during which time it has always been stored in a heated bldg. Mileage shown now is 37446. This car is very nice. I believe the nicest coupe I have seen on E-Bay recently. As good as the car is - it isn't perfect. The most noticeable defects include a paint blister on the hood and the radio doesn't work. The engine starts easy and runs good and doesn't smoke. Transmissions shifts as it should. Brakes and clutch are good and smooth. Glass is excellent and all rubber appears to hae been replaced upon restoration as were 5wheels and Michelin red line tires. I got something around $35,000 in receipts for restoration when I bought the car. It has been the most reliable of the 8 collector cars I have, always ready to start and go.

http://www.bonhams.com/usa/auction/19385/lot/720/#

Auction description:
Sale 19385 - Fairfield Concours d'Elegance, Exceptional Collectors' Motorcars and Automobilia, 17 Sep 2011 to 18 Sep 2011
Connecticut, Westport
Lot No: 720•
1963 Jaguar E Type Series 1 3.8 Liter Coupe

The car presented here for sale, was acquired by the late former owner in 1997 through Stu Carpenter's Copley Motorcars in Boston and in the last 20 years is known to have resided with owners in San Marcos, CA and New Mexico.

Between 2004 and 2007, the car was comprehensively worked through by KTR European Motorsports of Ayer, MA. During this period and with subsequent maintenance bills on file total more than $60,000. The car subsequently took top honors at the British Motoring Association of of Prince Edward Island, British Car Day in 2006 and International Motoring Festival 2008.

Today it remains in very tidy order, being finished in the elegant and attractive dark blue paint with black leather trim, and is equipped with an original jack, together with a good file of invoices for work carried out over the last 20 years.

Estimate: US$30,000 - 35,000

I have the original owners packet for this car (chassis# 886782). It belonged to my grandfather and was packed away after he died in the mid-60s. It is complete and in excellent condition including plastic pouch, service records, service poster, warranty brochure and more. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing it. It would be nice to see it reunited with the original vehicle.
