Current bid $25,097 reserve not met, 12 bids, 5 days left in auction. Buy it now price $35k.
Sellers description:
1962 Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Coupe. Chassis 885642. An older re-paint of Factory Original Olde English White with Red interior. Desirable 3:31 rear axle. Matching Numbers . Odometer reads 22395, however actual mileage is unknown. Only the 642nd LHD FHC ever made! These early 3.8 litre Coupes are quite RARE, hence seriously sought after by collectors. Paint is very presentable, Chrome is very good, and the Body is straight and solid with good factory panel gaps. No evidence of any accident damage.
Not a concours car, but rather an ideal driver that has retained many of its very early and desirable 3.8 features. Apart from NEW Leather Seat Covers and Wilton Wool Carpets, the remainder of this 44 year old interior is still ORIGINAL from the Vintage Polka-Dot Aluminum, to the Door Panels, to the Rear Boot Mats!
Rebuilt Engine runs Strong and Cool. Oil Pressure is 60 psi at normal operating temp and 25 psi at idle. NEW twin brake master cylinders, however could use some brake and maybe front suspension work. Tracks straight down the road with no unusual pulls or vibrations. Michelin XVS tires have plenty of tread remaining.
Ideal for Collector, Investor, or simply just driving pleasure. Presently Registered, Inspected, and driven on weekends. Rhode Island is a non-title state regarding older vehicles, therefore the Current Registration is used as transfer to new ownership. I am listing this Jag for a personal friend who has owned the vehicle over the past 9 years. I have been asked to do so because of my 30 years experience of collecting and driving E-Types, hence I will be able to more accurately answer any questions that may arise. I have driven this E-Type and found it to be a decent driver. Vehicle is located in Rhode Island.
