JAGUAR: 1961 S! XKE FLAT FLOOR Completed at Jaguars Brown's Lane works on December 19th 1961, this lovely Series 1 FHC was originally finished in Cream with black interior just as it appears today, as noted in the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. This factory left hand drive configured E-type FHC was destined for the booming North American sports car market. This lifetime California car was subjected to a comprehensive restoration by noted Jaguar specialist Richard Jenkins of Atlanta Georgia, who completed this restoration while Mario Lazano in Hesperia California handled the body and paint. Some of the finer restoration included refurbishment of the engine and overhaul of the transmission with new bearings seals and gaskets. The body was brought down to bare metal and received a fresh coat of the original color of Jaguar Cream. Additionally the chassis was media blasted and the suspension components received equal attention. Mr. Jenkins attended to each and every detail of originality. The original engine, crankshaft, and cylinder head have remained with the car since leaving the factory. The car will be accompanied by original tool kit, jack, and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. Expertly restored Flat Floor e-types, like the one represented here, are highly sought after by collectors all around the world. With the vehicle on offer being in such fine condition, there is no better opportunity to put yourself behind the wheel of one of the most iconic sports cars of the 20th Century. Offered at $345,000

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
