Lot #84423
This 1964 Jaguar XKE Series I roadster was restored during previous ownership and is finished in Opalescent Gunmetal over burgundy leather. Power is provided by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes a retractable soft top, 15″ wire wheels, triple SU carburetors, chrome-finished bumpers, electric power steering, aftermarket air conditioning, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2021, and subsequent service included an oil change and a brake fluid flush. This XKE roadster is offered on dealer consignment with restoration photos, a service manual, spare parts, a Jaguar Heritage Trust production certificate, and a clean New Jersey title in the current owner’s name.
Originally finished in Cream, the car was disassembled, placed on a rotisserie jig, and repainted Opalescent Gunmetal during previous ownership. Equipment includes a burgundy soft top, chrome-finished bumpers, headlamp covers, a louvered hood, dual side mirrors, and a stainless steel exhaust system with dual central outlets.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are mounted with 205/70 Michelin Defender tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the suspension was overhauled and upgraded during previous ownership. A brake fluid flush was performed in preparation for the sale.
Originally trimmed in black, the cabin has been fitted with replacement bucket seats covered in burgundy leather with color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Silver trim adorns the dashboard and center console, and equipment includes electric power steering, aftermarket air conditioning, color-matched lap belts, a center console, and a passenger-side grab handle. The removed stock seats are included in the sale.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer, while auxiliary gauges for water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 1,000 miles, which is said to reflect the distance traveled since completion of the restoration. The selling dealer states that 200 miles have been added during current ownership, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.8L twin-cam straight-six was overhauled during previous ownership and is equipped with triple SU carburetors. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Engine number RA6796-9 is stamped on the cylinder head and matches the number indicated on the Jaguar Production Record Certificate.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
Additional photos taken during various stages of restoration work are included.
A service manual, a tool kit, a jack, and spare parts are included in the sale.
The Jaguar Production Record Certificate shows factory equipment, chassis and engine numbers, distribution through Jaguar Cars in New York, and a build date of May 4, 1964.
