Ebay item 2/27/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Jaguar-E-Type-/172547049157
Current bid $75,000 reserve not met 1 bid 9 days left in auction, jagconnection, 43k miles.
Sellers description:
MATCHING NUMBERS 1964 SR I E-Type Roadster (VIN # 881182) with ONLY 43,600 miles on the odometer. A Heritage Certificate is included confirming the matching numbers. The car has been owned and pampered by the current owner for the past 30 years. He had the car restored several years ago, and only put a handful of miles on the car since the restoration; hence the LOW MILES. The body and paint restoration included the engine bay, firewall, bonnet underside, trunk, and the entire exterior. The entire body was disassembled; this level of restoration can be seen in one of the photos.
When the car was reassembled, the final restoration included many NEW components including, but not limited to, complete interior, convertible top, boot cover, trunk kit, windshield, tires, stainless steel exhaust system, and miscellaneous electrical and mechanical components within the engine compartment. Many of the items that were not replaced new were restored.
Just recently the car has undergone a complete refresh including, but not limited to, the ignition system, carburetor adjustment, new tires, new fluids, complete hose kit, new fluid reservoir sensors, new plugs and plug wires, complete brake system rebuilt, new chrome, new rubber seals throughout, gas tank drained and cleaned, paint buffed out, and a general checkup involving the overall electricals and mechanicals. It's READY TO HIT THE ROAD.
The body / paint are in SHOW condition; a BRILLIANT FINISH. There are a couple very minor flaws in the paint but nothing that is noticeable unless it's pointed out in the appropriate lighting. And the color combination is stunning; Red / Red; it's very beautiful. The interior is in exceptional condition with the exception of one very small puncture in the passenger seat. As seen by the photos, the engine bay is EXTREMELY CLEAN and was correctly restored to factory specifications.
Overall, this SR I Roadster is an EXCELLENT show/driver; it's BEAUTIFUL and its "RED".
The current NADA Book Value for a 1964 E-Type Jaguar Roadster is as follows:
High Retail - $257,600
Average Retail - $116,600

The Jaguar E-Type's combination of beauty, high performance, and innovative engineering has made the British sports car an icon of classic car passion. The XK-E's claimed 150 mph top speed, sub-7 second 0 to 60 acceleration, disc brakes, rack-and-pinion steering, and independent front and rear suspension set it ahead of other sports cars at the time, and influenced the entire industry. The E-Type was based on Jaguar's D-Type racing car, which had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for three consecutive years beginning in 1955. This gorgeous Series I example, finished in red over dark red leather, is an excellent-driving convertible XKE in collector quality condition.
