This 1962 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster that was completed on July 4, 1962, as a personal export delivery car to be distributed by Jaguar Cars of New York. It was purchased by the seller in 2016 and subsequently underwent a multi-year refurbishment that was completed in 2022. The car is finished in Opalescent Silver Blue over gray leather upholstery, and power comes from a 3.8-liter inline-six that is fed by triple SU carburetors and paired with a Moss four-speed manual gearbox. Features include a black soft top, 15″ wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a cowl-mounted Talbot mirror, glass headlamp covers, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo. This XKE placed third at the 2022 La Jolla Concours d’Elegance in California, and it is now offered with factory books, tools, Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace and paint code certificates, refurbishment photos, service records, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Delivered from the factory in Opalescent Silver Blue, the car underwent a color change to white under previous ownership before it was placed on a rotisserie and refinished in its factory color during the refurbishment. Features dual exhaust outlets, split chrome-finished bumpers, a Talbot cowl-mounted mirror, a louvered hood, and glass headlamp covers.

The 15″ wire wheels feature two-eared knock-off spinners and are mounted with Pirelli Cinturato tires. A matching spare wheel and tire are mounted under the trunk floor. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in gray leather along with matching door panels and carpets. Features include textured aluminum trim on the dashboard and center console, a heater, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio.

The three-spoke steering wheel features exposed aluminum on the inner rim and frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset clock. Auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 19k miles, approximately 50 were added after the completion of the refurbishment. Total mileage is unknown.

The 3.8-liter inline-six is equipped with triple SU carburetors and polished valve covers. Output was factory rated at 265 horsepower. A replacement cylinder head was fitted under previous ownership, and the engine was rebuilt in 2018 with a resurfaced block, heads, and flywheel along with a polished crankshaft and the replacement of the valve guides and seats. Block stamping R6440–9 is also listed on the Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate. The seller recommends a post-refurbishment break-in service within the next 500 miles.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a replacement Moss four-speed manual gearbox.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace certificate shows the original colors and drivetrain numbers as well as the build and dispatch dates.

The car is fitted with a replacement serial number plate, and both the new and removed plates are provided.
