Ebay item 3/20/04
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $17,600.00 (Reserve not met), 6 bids, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers comment:
This rare 1962 XKE is still owned by the original owner. It was purchased new in 1962 and has been in Florida since 1965. It has always been garage kept. The engine is a 3.8 liter six cylinder with a 4 speed manual transmission. It has 115,000 original miles and runs good. The carbs have just been rebuilt and new rear end mounts installed. There does not appear to be any rust.
Also included are the following new parts that have been kept as spares:
Starter, hoses, exhaust pipe and stainless steel mufflers, and new front end bushings
Vehicle Condition
The body is in good condition with no rust. The chrome work has some pitting. The interior is original. The top needs replacement. A new top is included with the car.

Sellers description:
1962, Jaguar E-Type 3.8 Roadster. 115K miles. Matching numbers. Blue.
I’ve always wanted an E-Type Roadster. In early ’04, I found this one near Miami, still in the possession of the original owner. I purchased the car, rented a trailer and brought her back to my place in Tennessee. Planning to undertake a full restoration, I drove the car into my garage and began to disassemble, beginning with the interior.
I removed the top, seats, carpet, dash, windshield, wipers, etc. All items (except the disintegrated carpet and seals) are labeled in ziplock bags or boxed. I have photos documenting the progression of the interior disassembly.
I am considering selling my E-Type because, as you can see from the photos, I haven’t made much progress dismantling, let alone restoring her in the past twenty or so months!
Bonnet, doors, trunk all fit well. There is rust beneath the battery box, driver’s side sill at the door seal (see picture), driver’s side floor at trailing arm location. The original owner repaired damage to the bonnet around the front passenger side headlamp. There does not appear to be rust on the passenger side floor, although there is a dent. There are small dings elsewhere. The exterior has a poor repaint. Chrome should be redone. Glass should be replaced.
I do have the motif bar and spare wheel. Do not have the original jack, tool pouch, or air filter assembly. Included are new mufflers and new top.
This E-Type is basically an original, complete S1 OTS ready for a full restore.
